The image of N. M. Karamzin in Russian poetry
There are virtually no specialized studies into the creation of poetic image of N. Karamzin in late 18th — early 19th centuries in Russian literature; though it is the expressiveness and imagery of poetry which can have a great impact on the myths in public consciousness. The present study is based on the texts published in the following collections of poems: “Epigrams and Satire: from the history of literary feud of the 19th century” (Epigramma i satira: iz istorii literaturnoy bor’by XIX veka....

Prose miniature in the works of N. M. Karamzin
The article discusses some exercises of N. M. Karamzin, the first great Russian writer who worked in the prosaic miniature`s form, a short text which we compare to a poetic one. In the Russian tradition the prosaic miniature developed primarily in journals and magazines. Translations, sometimes fragmentary, from European languages, of both poetic and prosaic texts became one of the main sources of the Russian prosaic miniature. Karamzin started with some translated miniature texts and went on to...
Semyon Frank and Yakov Golosovker: On Kantian Motives in the Works of Dostoyevsky
... is a realm of search for “universal meaning” and “cultivation” of historical reality. Such a “conversation” around the work of Dostoyevsky took place in the 1920s among philosophers (including members of the Free Philosophical Association or Volfila in its abbreviated form). The theme takes on added significance at the hands of Ya. E. Golosovker and S. L. Frank whose intellectual affinity manifests itself today in the way they interpret Kantian motives in the work of Dostoyevsky. Reflecting on “the logic of imagination” Golosovker draws attention to the fact that the concrete-metaphysical ...
Novel-reconstruction: the creation of the genre (On "The Creation of Karamzin" by Yu. Lotman)
Y. Lotman’s defined his own book " The Creation of Karamzin” as a " novel-reconstruction”. This is an attempt to create a new genre — the ideal historical description, organized as a polylogue between the historian, novelist and semiotician. For this, Lotman relied on Karamzin’s experience. The structural and semiotic characteristics of the novel-reconstruction allow revealing some new features of Karamzin’s "History".

N. M. Karamzin and the "Byzantine version" of the origin of the Russian coat of arms
The article dwells on the long-established popular version of the "Byzantine" origin of the Russian state emblem: the image of the double-headed eagle is allegedly associated with the marriage of the Great Prince of Moscow Ivan III and Sophia Palaeologus, successor to the Roman and Byzantine Empires. N. Karamzin’s role in promoting and substantiating this version is considered, alongside discussing the longevity of this hypothesis and a critical attitude to it from the point of view of...
Radovan Karadžić’s All-Autumn poetry collection in the Serbian- Russian context
This article considers the content and style of R. Karadžić’s poetry and their multiaspect proximity to Russian poetry. Such features include philosophicity, special lyricism oriented to the existential feeling of the author, tragic perception of the world and the place of the persona in it. Moreover, it is humour and propensity for a paradox characteristic of folklore.

The problem of hereditary sin in F.M. Dostoevsky’s novel The Brothers Karamazov
The analysis of the problem of “hereditary sin” in Dostoevsky’s novel The Brothers Karamazov is considered in the light of the discussion on the theory of “hereditary sin” within modern Orthodoxy. The author examines the “threshold situations” faced by the novel’s characters and arrives at a conclusion about the role of the “hereditary sin” problem in Dostoevsky’s literary system.

One day of a Russian traveller in Königsberg: N. M. Karamzin and a ‘fitting place’ in the world history
It is stressed that the metaphysical foundation of the original pedagogy of Königsberg, which was called by K. Garber “an emblem of apocalypse” is Kant’s philosophical conviction that humanity will attain “perpetual peace” in the graveyard of humankind unless they make the “moral law” the initial principle of any causality. It is shown that N. M. Karamzin unveils the essence of this law with impressive precision and brevity in his letter.

Speech aggression as a means of preserving and promoting the Neo-pagan worldview: the case of Rodnoverie
The role of verbal aggression in the promotion of specific value-regulatory systems, particularly those of a religious nature, has not been extensively explored in contemporary scholarship.
