The authors identify the features of artistic incarnation of the actual autobiographical material, the genre forming role of Belarusian and Russian substrata, the influence of the tradition of Russian classical novel, as well as the manifestation of the elements of adventure and ideological novels.

The modifications of the fairy tale genre in the modern Czech literature: The case of A. Mikulka O jelenovi s kulometem and J. Černický’s O Sasance
... modification of the author’s fairy tale genre in the modern Czech literature. On the one hand, writers take into account the traditions of the 20th century Czech author’s fairy tale, which was developed by many other Czech authors. In Mikulka’s works, elements of folklore fairy tale are interpreted based on the principles of surrealism, grotesque, language game, and nonsense literature. On the other hand, modern author’s fairy tale interacts with the genres of legend, myth, parable, and literary phantasy (Černický).

In this article, I investigate the poetics of the novel The buried giant by Kazuo Ishiguro and consider artistic images that tend to actualise mythological poetics in the literary text. I pay particular attention both to the re-creation of elements of mythological origin in the context of the novel and to new semantic meanings emerging through the reconsideration of the myth in the mind of the author. I address the problem of defining the genre of the novel, which has not yet received a single identification in the literature.
