Учение как путь в романе Дж. Джойса «Портрет художника в юности»
Аннотация
Путь взросления Стивена Дедала, героя первого романа Дж. Джойса, показывается как результат разносторонних влияний: домашнего образования, учебных заведений различного типа, а также самообразования. Период обучения в школах, находящихся под опекой ордена иезуитов, отмечен конфликтом между ценностями, привитыми домашним воспитанием и навязанными системой британского образования. Школьное обучение не ведет к формированию у героя полноценного идеала, которому он мог бы следовать. В то же время родной дом в его сознании утрачивает значимость, что приводит к полному изменению мировоззренческих установок героя. В эти условиях важным фактором развития личности героя становится самообразование, которое не только помогает Стивену добиться успехов, но и пробуждает в нем желание оставаться вечным студентом в университете Жизни.
