Adaptation of discursive strategies for social management of innovations in China

Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of how the discourse of the social management of innovation is structured through different modes of implementing axiological strategies within the discursive trajectory model. The methodology of the analysis is grounded in the theory of conceptualization and evaluative categorization, principles of the semiotics of communication, as well as the theory of the strategic nature of discourse. In line with a dynamic approach to discourse analysis, methods of interpretative analysis of inference and cognitive modeling have been employed. Visionary and optimizing modes of implementing axiological strategies have been established. The most typical and frequent ways of implementing the visionary axiological strategy have been identified, namely axiological perspectivization, formulation, metaphorization, expressive repetition, descriptive evaluative qualification, and attractive maieutic questioning. In the optimizing strategy, valorizing argumentation of significant meaning prevails through techniques of axiological programming, syntactic parallelism, metaphorization, deontic modalization, exemplification, and evaluation. The analysis of the implementation of visionary and optimizing axiological strategies in the discourse of social management of innovations has revealed relevant and significant value meanings in the form of correlative and oppositional conceptual nodes of various types, which contribute to the formation and enrichment of the current layer of the concept 创新 (innovation), as well as its promotion in the media's axiologically parameterized communicative space. The specified meanings are interpreted by the authors as ways of adapting global discursive strategies for social management of innovations within the context of Chinese-language discourse.
