Aims and scope

"Vestnik of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. Series: Humanities and Social Sciences" is an academic journal in the humanities and social sciences with a principal focus on history, political science, the theory and practice of jurisprudence, and the socio-economic development of the Baltic region and the Kaliningrad region.

The journal publishes original scholarly articles and reviews, that meet high standards of academic publications in the humanities and social sciences.

Previous titles of Vestnik (2011-2015)

Vestnik of the Immanuel Kant Russian State University (2005-2011)

Vestnik of Kaliningrad State University (from 2001 to 2005)

In 2016, "Vestnik of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University" was transformed into four separate periodicals, one of which is “Vestnik of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. Humanities and Social Sciences"

All manuscripts sent to the Editorial Board of the journal are reviewed and checked for plagiarism.

Only original articles that have not been previously published in other journals can be published in “Vestnik”. When submitting a manuscript, the author guarantees not to publish the manuscript in full or in part in any other journal without the consent of the Editorial Board. All manuscripts are submitted through an online submission system.

This journal provides free open access to its content based on the principle of enhancing the global exchange of knowledge.

All manuscripts are published under an open license, allowing authors to retain copyright.  The journal does not restrict the republication of materials provided the author gives reference to the manuscript already published in the Vestnik.

Anti-plagiarism policy

The editorial board of the journal pursues a policy of zero tolerance for plagiarism. All manuscripts are checked for plagiarism by anti-plagiarism software.

Publication fee

Publication of manuscripts (preparation for publication, formatting and printing) is free of charge for authors.

Policy of posting preprints and post-prints

When submitting a manuscript, the author confirms that the article has not been published or has not been accepted for publication in another journal. When referring to the article published in the “Vestnik of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. Humanities and Social Sciences", it is required to provide a link (full URL of the material) to the official website of the journal. Articles posted earlier by authors on their personal or public websites, including those not related to other publishers cannot be submitted.

Disclosure policy and conflicts of interest

Unpublished data from manuscripts submitted for review cannot be used in any research without the written consent of the author.

Any information or ideas obtained during the review is confidential and must not be used for personal gain.

Reviewers do not participate in the review of manuscripts in case of a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative and other interactions and relationships with any of the authors, companies or other organisations related to the submitted work.
