This article considers the features of mathematical education in Russia in the 18th-19th centuries. The focal point is the significance of children’s physical activity for the development of spatial perception and mathematical thinking. The author makes recommendations on the development of motivation in schoolchildren for studying mathematics and the use of interdisciplinary approach to developing mathematical thinking and arousing interest in acquiring mathematical knowledge.

An increase in social activity in society emphasizes the need for scientific and theoretical understanding of the phenomenon of social and legal activity per se, as well as the process of managing its manifestations at educational institutions. The authors analyze the results of a study into the aptitude of federal university teachers for managing social and legal activity of students. The data obtained can be used for increasing teachers’ qualification.

This article considers approaches to research on poor academic performance at higher educational institutions as a didactic phenomenon. The authors address the need to prevent poor academic performance and structure the training process so that the potential of each student is fully developed. The article analyses the data of surveys of radio engineering graduates of Kaliningrad Border Service Institute of the Federal Security Service of Russia, which put emphasis on the problems of academic performance and correction of knowledge obtained.

This article focuses on the typology of conflicts within school conflict studies. It provides a brief overview of basic classifications. The offered typology is based on the functional approach to conflict typology.

The article considers three main types of integration of education, science and business. There are: American type, Japanese type and Mixed type. The main role in American type of integration plays Research University; the main role in Japanese type plays Government; the main role in Mixed type (mostly prevalence are in Central and Northern Europe) plays technological parks. The article considers merits and demerits of these types.

This article considers the main aspects of organizing and conducting monitoring of education quality at universities. The author pays attention to
the features of applying competence approach in controlling the quality of education.

The article examines the key methodological problems in the design of new educational infrastructure for labor training and education of youth in
the global economy. Through comparative historical and pedagogical approach, the author shows how to overcome the most difficult issues of developing the infrastructure components of a modern system of labor training and education of youth.

A changing educational environment (CEE) is a new, little studied type of local environment. This article identifies and considers the components of CEE, which serves as the basis for a component analysis of the content of a textbook on Russian as a foreign language for teaching German-speaking students of basic level. The author emphasises that CEE has a positive influence on the discipline’s methodology.

The authors suggest a multidisciplinary approach - based on social and economic psychology – to the problem of consumption of certain goods that affect health condition.

This article aims to give a theoretical and methodological, as well as empirical justification of the conceptual framework of formation of professional culture in future lawyers in the context of its increasing quality. The problem of professional culture of a lawyer was analyzed within
the three contexts: theoretical approaches to understanding the nature of professional culture; problem aspects from the perspective of practitioners of law enforcement authorities; the image of professional culture peculiar to law university teachers. The authors come to a conclusion that there is a need to increase the role of humanities in the training of legal specialists.

This article describes the factors affecting the need for informatization of physical education of schoolchildren. The analysis was conducted on the basis of surveys of sports teachers. The author identifies professional areas, in which information and communications technologies (ICT) are applied. It is established that the intensity of ICT introduction into teaching sports depends on the level of computer literacy of teachers, the availability of high-quality electronic didactic materials, and the development of methodological approaches to ICT introduction into physical education.

This article is explains the need to develop a new master’s programme — “Psychology of health — as well as to identify the competences of its graduates in the sphere of formation, preservation, and recovery of health. This article focuses on the opportunities of physical education in the formation of professional competencies of future mid-level specialists of service sector. Through an analysis of the research and pedagogical literature and a pedagogical experiment, the author tested the effectiveness of the developed technology for the formation of professional competencies in stu-dents of services fields at vocational secondary education institutions by means of physical education.
