The Vestnik journal was founded in 2001 at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.

As of 27.04.2022, Vestnik IKBFU: Philology, Pedagogy, and Psychology and Vestnik IKBFU: Humanities and Social Science are indexed in the Russian State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles list of the leading scientific journals, in which main scientific results on topics of dissertations for the degree of candidate and doctor of sciences should be published.
The Vestnik is included in Ulrich's Periodicals Directory – the largest library Directory and database providing information about popular and academic magazines, scientific journals, newspapers, and other serial publications in all subject areas.
A copy of each issue is sent to the Russian State Library and other leading libraries and academic and research institutions of Russia and the Baltic region.
All contributions are subject to external and internal peer review and scanning using anti-plagiarism software. After these procedures, the final decision regarding publication is made.
