The modelling of postmortem heat transfer and estimating the time of death
... postmortem temperature dynamics. A model of heat transfer in a newborn cadaver presented as a finite cylinder is examined in detail. An important factor in constructing a mathematical model of postmortem heat transfer in a newborn aimed at identifying the time of death is body form approximation. It is shown that heat transfer in a cadaver is not sufficient for identifying the time of death, which should be based on a comprehensive assessment of postmortem changes.

The linguistic representation of subjective time in Florian Illies’s novel Generation Golf zwei
This article is based on the postulate that there are objective and subjective forms of time. I consider means to explicate subjective time in literature, using the novel Generation Golf zwei by the contemporary German author, Florian Illies. In this autobiographical novel, Illies goes heavy on self-irony to draw a psychological portrait ...
Time in Sergey Trubetskoy’s and Boris Chicherin’s metaphysical concepts: A discussion on Kant
... analyses the controversy between Sergey Trubetskoy and Boris Chicherin, which followed the publication of Trubetskoy’s monograph the Foundations of Idealism. This analysis focuses on the philosophers’ understanding of the metaphysical nature of time. The relevance of the work is that the philosophical reflections of the opponents took place against the backdrop of an impending change in science and philosophy — the transition from the classical to neo-classical paradigm. This transition encouraged ...
Kant oder Heidegger – Metaphysik, Anthropologie oder Existenzial-Ontologie? Kritische Bemerkungen zu einer Alternative Heideggers im Jahr 1929
In his first Kant book of 1929 Kant and the Problem of Metaphysics Martin Heidegger focusses, not surprisingly, on one of the two central themes from his two years earlier major book Being and Time — the question of the essence of time. It cannot be overseen that he tries to show that his conception of time is superior to Kant’s. Nevertheless, it is high time to examine whether Heidegger’s claim can bear up against a micro-hermeneutical ...
Some aspects of time verbalisation in the English and Russian languages

Space and Time as A Priori Forms in the Works of Hermann Cohen and Ivan Lapshin
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries the need to rethink the status of space and time which Kant considered to be a priori forms of sensibility was prompted by the emergence of new approaches to the methodology of scientific cognition. In neo-Kantian interpretation these cognitive forms acquire a special epistemological status, manifesting ...
Metaphoric vectors of time
The article focuses upon cognitive foundations underlying the metaphoric conceptualization of time in the Anglo-American Weltanschauung. Special emphasis is put on basic image schemata underlying time perception and verbalization in the Old English, Middle English and Modern English periods. Lexicographic and textual data are drawn to exemplify ...
Peculiarities of the figurative in the concept of "Time" in middle English
The article examines the most typical for Middle English metaphorical and metonymic shifts of meaning which represent figurative part of time concept. It is proved that the most frequent shifts are: time — event or state, time — traveler or moving object, space — time, time — master, time — system of measurement, time — grammatical category.

The concept of time in the late poetical cycles of R. M. Rilke and B. Pasternak: back to mythological sources
This article presents the key results of an analysis of time concepts in poetic cycles of R.M. Rilke and B. Pasternak. The author emphasises the isomorphism of evolution of ideas of time in the late works of the poets.

The Problem of Being: Kant and Heidegger
... only with the ideas of the Critique of Pure Reason but also with Kant’s pre-critical work, The Only Possible Argument in Support of a Demonstration of the Existence of God (1763), in which Kant explicitly addressed the question of being for the first time. Heidegger focuses on the transcendental power of imagination not only as the “common root” of sensibility and understanding, but also as the fundamental faculty of ontological cognition. He links it with the phenomenon of time, arguing that ...
Reception of Kant’s Epistemological Ideas in Fyodor Golubinsky’s Metaphysics
Kant’s views on space and time as well as his doctrine of the categories of understanding attracted the attention of thinkers belonging to the Russian spiritual-academic philosophical tradition of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A prominent representative of these ...
The cyclical nature of time in B. Zaitsev’s short story St Nicholas Street: The means of linguistic and image representation
This article examines the concept of time in B. Zaitesev’s short story “St Nicholas Street” and the means of its linguistic and image representation. The author considers the correlation of cyclic, biographical, and historical time and the category of the eternal, as well as the means ...
Donelaitis and Kant: to the issue of the hermeneutic of survival in the era of the “mystery of iniquity”
..., Donelaitis expressed keen interest in physicotheology and alternatives to pietism as early as his university years. Donelaitis and Kant never met; they had different worldviews. However, they also had something in common relating to the problem of time. They shared the idea that time is not only a form of material existence connected to space but, primarily, a hermeneutic category. It means that, in its very essence, time is not only objective and absolute, but also relative in a hermeneutic rather ...
Time in N. O. Lossky’s ideal realism
This article discusses the ontological and epistemological aspects of the interpretation of time in N. O. Lossky’s ideal realism. It is stressed that time is a form of events initiated by substantial actors in the process of world creation. The author analyses the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of time. The features of synchronous ...
Distribution of NQR relaxation times in the rotating frame of reference in micro-sized crystallites
This article presents the results of an experimental study into the effect of powder crystallite size on spin-lattice relaxation times in a rotating frame for 35Cl NQR in potassium chlorate, as well as the nutation interferograms. To obtain the distribution of relaxation times, a multi-exponential decay inversion of the longitudinal component of the nuclear magnetization in a rotating ...
Kant über inneren Sinn, Zeitanschauung und Selbstaffektion
... empirical synthesis of apprehension. Then, I focus on the pure aspect and argue that the conceptualising function involved in the pure self-affection is decisive for the generation of formal intuition. In particular, I explain why the formal intuition of time depends on the intuition of space and how it is constituted by drawing a line. After that, I turn to analysing the empirical aspect of self-affection and show that by virtue of the empirical synthesis of apprehension one is aware of both the empirical ...
Time and eternity in the literary image of the church procession: Pushkin’s Boris Godunov and Shmeleff’s The Year of the Lord
This article considers the depiction of the church procession to examine the literary interpretation of time and eternity in Alexander Pushkin’s historical drama Boris Godunov and Ivan Shmeleff’s novel The Year of the Lord. The two texts share fundamental similarities in literary images. The church procession is portrayed as a manifestation of eternity ...
Set of algorithms for constructing university timetable – part 1: system of evaluating timetable quality based on fuzzy logic and features of algorithm for searching an optimal timetable
A new approach for evaluating the quality of University timetables is proposed. This approach uses a multicriterion expert system with two quality
indexes: the average penalty imposed on timetabling and highest penalty imposed on one of the constraints. The system based on a series of intelligible rules and use the algorithms of fuzzy logic for getting the final evaluation of timetabling was created. An algorithm for searching a set of Pareto optimal timetables based on the Pareto simulated annealing...
