Particular emphasis is placed on its interrelation with wokeism, which operates as an ideological and axiological framework shaping a system of values centred on equality, inclusivity, and social justice. Cancel culture, in this context, functions as a pragmatic instrument of value enforcement, realised through public condemnation, boycotts, stigmatisation, and symbolic exclusion....
Reading signs and being in the world: a dual perspective on semiotics
The article demonstrates, through a series of examples, that reflection on signs relates to two distinct mental operations: the exchange of sign messages between subjects (communication), and the interpretation of signs and sign systems that lack a subjective sender and originate either in natural objects or in the impersonal domain of “culture”. This duality of the object of analysis gives rise to persistent terminological difficulties, which surface in Aristotle’s treatment ...

Grammar. Linguistics. Language (in response to opposing views)
I discuss the criteria of defining linguistics against other science branches. Linguistics is not a proper part of semiotics, since the foundations of language do not necessarily rely on the theory of sign systems. Grammar always operates on sets, including the sets consisting of one element. Not all language objects can be treated as signs. The connectors, i. e. segmental means marking the levels of clause linkage are legal linguistic objects, but the analysis of individual ...

Kant and Wittgenstein on Thought Experiments and the Matter of Transcendental Arguments
It is necessary to reconsider P. M. S. Hacker’s assessment of Kant and Wittgenstein’s philosophical affinities and the question concerning Wittgenstein’s alleged use of “transcendental arguments”. First, Alfred Norman’s reading of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus as a thought experiment receives revision to develop a view of the Critique of Pure Reason as a large-scale thought experiment that shares important logical features with the Tractatus. Then the question is addressed whether the middle...

The study emphasizes similarities between the creative systems of Beckett and the Second Viennese School/neoclassicists. The commonalities range from the work with patterns, which operate very similarly to dodecaphony in both form and effect, to the impression of the ‘semiotic chaos’ arising when Beckett's texts are mentally articulated. The effect of ‘semantic chaos’ can be compared with the ‘cacophony’ of atonal ...
