AbstractThis article analyses the works of E. T. A. Hoffmann through the example of the novel "A Report on the Latest Adventures of the Dog Berganza". The author shows the influence of Kant's epistemological and ethical ideas on the Weltanschauung of E. T. A. Hoffmann for whom the human nature and the essence of humanity became one of the central problems. Following Kant, Hoffmann considered morals the measure of humanity.
