Abstract

This article deals with the process of conceptual shift that creates a syntactic field with its nucleus and peryphery. In the latter the superposition of prototypically opposed meanings and concepts substitutes for the polysemy of syntactic units, thus resulting in the overlap of syntactic fields. In this process vocabulary is of great importance.
