The conceptual profiles of the oeuvre of M. Bulgakov, V. Nabokov, A. Platonov and M. Sholokhov (according to the data of the comparative analysis of frequent vocabulary)

Abstract

The following article offers a methodology combining the quantitative and ideographic methods of text analysis. The contexts of frequent vocabulary help build up the "conceptual profiles" of M. Bulgakov, V. Nabokov, A. Platonov, and M.Sholokhov, which reflect the individual correlation of denotative spheres in the oeuvre of each author.

Author's word usage as a means to create a literary image in the Tales in two parts by A. I. Solzhenitsyn

Abstract

This paper offers the results of the study on the word-building capacities and lexical potential of verbs and nouns in the tales in two parts by A. I. Solzhenitsyn. Special attention is focused on the occasional word construction patterns, which are used by the writer as a means to create a literary image.

Substandard as the basis of author's idiolect in the Russian prose of the 21st century

Abstract

This article analyses the usage of substandard elements in literary works. Substandard is regarded as a characteristic of the author's idiolect from the standpoint of their internal culture, ethics and aesthetic expressiveness. It is emphasised that the author's usage of substandard units depends on both ideological and thematic content as well as the cultural-linguistic state of the society.
