Basic thermodynamic parameters in a non-ideal gas and the speed of sound based on various equations of state
The paper derives explicit relations for thermodynamic quantities and the adiabatic equation for a gas described by the equation of state of the most general form. Explicit formulas are given for the most known equations of state. As an example, the nature of the behavior of the speed of sound as a function of temperature and pressure for the Van der Waals gas is investigated and the obtained results are compared with experimental data. The analysis showed that the obtained formulas describe the speed of sound much better in a wide range of pressures and temperatures.
