Abstract
The textual analysis of three archetypes, "prospector", "mother" and "rebel" is conducted in the article by the example of the novel "The Prospector" by the French writer Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio. The concept of "archetype", its variations and functioning in the novel are discussed.
