Abstract

George Balanchine is a Russian-US dancer and choreographer who was invited to the USA in 1933 by Lincoln Kirstein's. Balanchine founded the School of American Ballet following the Russian ballet tradition. The author focuses his attention on several movements of classical dance as interpreted by Balanchine.
