The ‘training’ concept in Russian military discourse of the 19th century

Abstract

The author emphasises the high frequency of the use of ‘training’ concept in the linguistic world image of the 19th century and analyses the representative of the concept in the linguistic usage of military sublanguage of the 19th century. The article offers a cognitive description of linguistic factors in the framework of diachronic communication.

On the work of A. N. Grandilevsky The birthplace of Mikhail Lomonosov from the perspective of linguistic cultural studies

Abstract

This article is dedicated to a little-known work of a Kholmogory priest, A.N. Grandilevsky on Kurostrov settlements of the Kholmogory district of the Arkhangelsk region – the birthplace of M.V. Lomonosov. The book created in the early 20th century is defined as corresponding to the modern principles of linguistic-cultural locus description.

Some features of urban speech in the context of language situation of the Arkhangelsk North

Abstract

The author presents the result of research into the speech of indigent population of Arkhangelsk aimed at identifying informants of dialect lexical units in view of  social stratification. The data obtained show that dialect lexical units are still functionally active, but their frequency in groups formed according to the education principles differs considerably.
