Assessment of the CNS function in fetuses with different pathology
The article focuses on the studies of changes in fetal behavior and general fetal movements which were carried out through the method of H. Prechtl with the help of the Kurjak Antenatal Neurobehavioral Test (KANET). The research evaluated the functional state of the central nervous system of fetuses with different pathologies. The authors describe a number of assessments including the intrauterine development of the central nervous system of fetuses during normal gestation; the intrauterine development...
The reparative treatment of the wounded and injured with multisystem injuries to the tendons and nerves of the upper extremity
Upper limb injuries account for 50—70 % of orthopedic trauma incidents. The number of multisystem injuries is increasing. The author describes the frequency, structure, and extent of injuries to tendons and nerves on the basis of 400 cases. The article offers an analysis of the efficiency of pre-hospital surgical interventions. The statistical data obtained favour high-precision techniques of tendon and nerve treatment over the traditional ones. The author ...
Modern aspects of diagnostics of compressional neuropathy of the median nerve in the carpal canal
The article focuses on the examples of modern diagnostics of compression neuropathy of the median nerve in the carpal canal, because currently the unanimous assessment of the results during ultrasound and ENMG seems to be problematic. The purpose of the work is to propose a standard for the most effective algorithm for diagnosing patients with CCS....
The birth of premature children and the causes of disability of the child population in the kaliningrad region
The purpose of this work is to study the frequency of birth of premature babies and disability in children and the need to accompany premature babies by a pediatric neuropsychologist in the Kaliningrad region. The disabled children in the Kaliningrad were registered from 2016 to 2020 through statistical reports of the birth rate of premature babies. Against the background of a decrease in the overall birth rate, there is no trend towards a decrease in the birth of premature babies, the disability...
Assessment of the functional and dynamic state of the autonomic nervous system and the regulation of the tone of the peripheral blood vessels of the upper extremities
Research into the functional and dynamic state of the vegetative nervous system, namely the autonomic tone and reactivity, makes it possible to single out groups of sympaticotonics and vagotonics. Using the Doppler flowmetry method, the author identifies significant indicators of microcirculation in the peripheral blood vessels of the upper extremities.

Fetal behavior and the prediction of neuropsychiatric development
Over the past 30 years, ultrasound examination during pregnancy revealed a surprising variety of fetus movements. It has been proven that the fetal activity begins at the end of the embryo period, week 7—9 of gestation. The analysis of the movemental patterns of the fetus has led to the hypothesis that these patterns directly reflect the development and maturation of the central nervous system. The 2D-4D ultrasound makes it possible to identify measurable parameters for assessing the neurological...

The Visegrad Group and the Baltic Assembly: coalitions within the EU as seen through Russian foreign policy
Today Russia has difficulty doing business-as-usual with EU states. It seems that the countries of the Visegrad Group (V4) and the Baltic Assembly/Baltic Council of Ministers (BA/BСM) have contributed substantially to this state of affairs. Overall, the tensions between Russia and the EU are building up – another tendency that did not arise on the Russian initiative. This article aims to address the question of whether Russia should establish direct relations with the V4 and the BA/BCM as tools...
The two-party tendency in Poland’s political system: manifestations, causes and prospects
... Platform (PO) — as its key elements. Each president and prime-minister who has assumed office in the country since 2005 is a member of either PiS or PO. The polarisation of political life has also increased with the two-party rivalry growing into the nerve centre of Polish politics. Its intensity is succinctly captured in the widely used expression ‘Polish-Polish war’. The rivalry between PiS and PO often becomes the focus of international interest, as was the case with the air crash near Smolensk ...
Sociobiological psychotherapy of eating disorders
On the modern provisions of social biology and ethology, the original method of psychotherapeutic work with patients with anorexia nervosa and bulimia is conceptually substantiated and described in detail. The presented information and analytical technology rely on the concept of evolutionarily stable behavior strategies and is a variant of emotional stress therapy adequate for patients with autodestructive and potentially disastrous behavior.

Clinical cases, pathogenesis and diagnosis of catatonia in affective disorders (depression and mania) in adolescents
Catatonia is an important syndrome found in both psychiatry and general medicine. However, identification and treatment of this phenomenon is difficult without modern diagnostic scales for catatonia.
Purpose — to describe the cases of inhibited and excitable catatonia in adolescents with affective disorders.
Methods — clinical observation in accordance with the ICD-10 diagnostic criteria for affective disorders in depression and mania, the use of Beck depression scale, Beck anxiety...

Historical perspective on the word gospoda as a form of address
Using the method of corpus analysis, this article explores the history of the Russian honorific gospoda and related forms of address: damy i gospoda, gospoda-tovarischi, and other noun-noun and adjective-noun collocations (gospoda publika uvažaemye gospoda). It draws on examples from literature to demonstrate that although, contrary to popular belief, the honorific damy i gospoda is not a neologism of the end of the 20th century, it was marginal to pre-revolutionary speech. It is also shown...
Full and short personal names in Russian: a quantitative study
The paper presents a statistical study of the use of variant forms of Russian personal names. It is shown that Russian names can be divided into two classes: names with full and short forms contrast with names that only have one neutrally used form. For names that have a distinct short form, the frequencies of full and short forms can relate to each other in different ways. This depends on various factors, such as the length of the full name and the gender of its owner: for longer names and female...

KANET: application in ultrasonography and challenges of protocoling
KANET is an abbreviation that stands for Kurjak Antenatal Neurobehavioral Test, the test of antenatal neurologic development proposed by A. Kurjak. KANET is widely used for the differentiated assessment of the fetus during a normal and high-risk pregnancy. The test helps to identify antenatal deviations in the development of the central nervous system of the fetus. The authors describe their experience of doing the test and offer a new technique of the KANET automated protocoling.

The psychological aspects of treating patients with chronic toxic and dysmetabolic polyneuropathies
This article discusses the experience of applying psychodiagnostic methods in the complex treatment of patients with endo- and exotoxic nervous system damage. The results of the psychological testing showed that the proposed complex therapy reduces the severity of clinical implications of chronic polyneuropathy and increases the quality of life in all patient groups.
