Use of the genetic algorithm for devising a formula for liver volumetry
The authors propose a method of liver volumetry using anthropometric data and the data obtained during an ultrasound examination. The algorithm is built on the basis of a genetic algorithm with coefficients calculated using linear regression. It is shown that the new formula is more accurate than previously proposed ones. The algorithm can be used to work out volumetric formulas for other organs in radiological studies.

The relationship between the formation of universal competence and personality type (using the example of the discipline “Anti-corruption Legislation and Politics”
... type. The study confirms the relationship between the development of the universal competency “Civic Position” and students’ professional personality types during the course Anti-Corruption Legislation and Policy, taught in the fourth year. A linear regression model, which takes into account the student’s personality type, is proposed to predict the outcomes of the formation of this universal competency. A one-way ANOVA of fourth-year students’ midterm results and fifth-year residual knowledge ...
Determination of students personality type and its impact on the quality of learning
... that the ordinal grading scale behaves as an interval scale due to the specific method of assessment based on a point-rating system with a smoothed grading scale (where the “weights” of points are approximately equal). As a result of the study, a linear regression model was proposed, which allows for the prediction of the development of general professional competencies based on a student’s professional personality type.

On the issue of constructing a taxonomy of tasks in teaching data analysis
... horizontal-vertical taxonomy of educational tasks is proposed, based on three core processes: thinking, communication, and activity. The complexity of tasks is suggested as the key criterion for the vertical part of the taxonomy. Using the topic of “linear regression” as an example, typical tasks corresponding to primary and secondary processes, as well as their intersections, are presented. Specific assignments for Master’s students in the “Business Informatics” program within the course “Computer ...
Analysis methodology for the relationship between the water flow and river levels by determining the dependence
... article contains all the available data on average monthly discharges and water levels for the rivers under study, that provided the background for the hydrological series of these characteristics which are found to be in a close stochastic connection. Linear regression equations connect the average monthly discharges and water levels in the rivers under study. They also provide for the graphs of the relationship between the considered values, and the boundaries of their confidence intervals were calculated ...
