Peculiarities of ceramic production from the Neolithic settlements Pribrezhnoye and Ushakovo-3
... similarity, which can be attributed to the use of the same clay sources. However, at Ushakovo-3, there appears to have been a stronger preference for clays from nearby deposits that, while geographically close, exhibited local differences in trace element composition, impacting the technological characteristics of the ceramics. Additionally, rare instances of foreign ceramics were identified, indicating some external connections. Thus, the results of these interdisciplinary studies, which sometimes yield unexpected and significant insights that are difficult or even impossible to obtain using traditional methods, demonstrate the clear potential ...

Processing fat-based sludge by vermicomposting
The work aims to study processing fat-based sludge generated as a waste from the food enterprise in the Kaliningrad region through vermicomposting to obtain environmentally friendly bio-fertilizer. The research focused on chemical composition and physicochemical properties of fat-containing sludge and soil samples before and after the process of vermicomposting. The biofertilizer has been studied to conform to the basic regulatory indicators, and the main indicators: pH, organic matter and total phosphorus were assessed to meet the requirements for biofertilizers. The authors conclude that the use of the organic fertilizer obtained is permissible for the agricultural industry.
