Climate variability in the dynamics of seasonal development of plants in the South-East Baltic
This article follows the dynamics of the hydrothermal climate indicators in the Kaliningrad region over a 30-year period. The authors examine the variability of plants indicating phonological events in the regions. Changes in the blossom period of such plants in spring 2012 are compared to the data of 1893 (based on Der Frühlingseinzug report by the Prussian botanical society, 1893). Finally, conclusions are made regarding the impact of climate ...
The density of the even-toed ungulates in the Curonian Spit national park (based on the population monitoring data)
This article estimates the density of eventoed ungulates in the Curonian Spit national park and their distribution in the studied area. The density was calculated through the method of pellet count. The census of the mammal pop-ulation through the method of drive count was conducted alongside the daily monitoring of population.

The types of atmospheric water circulation over the Atlantic and the formation of the extreme North Sea water inflows into the Baltic Sea
This article emphasises that one of the conditions for the formation of extreme inflow events from the North into the Baltic Sea is the long-time impact of same-type atmospheric processes on the water surface. There is a need to consider the intensity and the duration of one-direction atmospheric processes. The authors focus on the features ...
The traces of Holocene events in the spore and pollen spectra of peat deposits in the southern part of the Kaliningrad Region
New data on the palaeoenvironment (vegetation and climate) in the southern part of the Kaliningrad Region were obtained through the processing of peat samples from Podlipovo peatland by means of pollen analysis. The results of the study indicate the prevalence of pine and birch forests in the early Holocene; the gradual introduction of broadleaved species occurred in the middle Holocene (the Atlantic). Fagus and Carpinus expansion in the sub-Boreal and sub-Atlantic affected the species composition...
The role of endogenous factor in increase of ocean level for the last 140 years
... subsequent rise of the sea level is defined as dominating. Two principle cycles in the sea level fluctuations were distinguished: a high-amplitude short-term cycle (2—3 years) and a low-amplitude long-term one (40—50 years). The concurrency of two events is traced: short-term cycles and major earthquakes in oceanic regions. It was shown that it is possible to estimate the area and amplitude of the seafloor submergence in the epicenter in relation to changes in water volume. Short-term cycles of ...
