... article discusses the problems of a linguistic study into personal names based on hagiographic hymnography. The author describes the methodology of cultural linguistic representation of the name of Saint Basil of Moscow based on anthroponyms and vocatives nominating the saint in the August Menaion from the collection of the Wojnowo Monastery (Poland).

The functional and pragmatic features of assonance phraseological reflexes
This paper analyzes a specific group of phraseological reflexes based on an assonance rhyme with an initial interrogative utterance. Assonance phraseological reflexes cannot perform a descriptive or nominative function acting in the process of verbal interaction only as markers of pragmatic intentions. Images of English giants: at the intersection of mythological traditions
The present paper describes the influence of Scandinavian, Celtic and Classical mythological traditions on the characters of giants in English folk tale discourse. The elements of archaic beliefs are represented in the inner form of nominations and attributes of folk tale giants. Borrowed motifs are subjected to varying degrees of transformation in folk tale discourse and depend upon cultural and historical development of the English ethnos.

Metaphorisation as a pattern of term formation in Russian and English within the semantic field “Insurance”
Term formation is viewed through the cognitive linguistics paradigm. The term is characterized as a semeiotic model correlating with a certain cognitive discourse pattern. Metaphorisation is defined as the nomination pattern. In the following article we tried to pick out the major cognitive characteristics of the term formation within the semantic field «Insurance» as it is represented in Russian and English insurance glossaries.
