This article analyses the factors that strengthened the influence of the Christian right movement in the USA in the 1990s. The author considers the organizational changes and ideological transformation within the movement and its effect on the political process in this period. The article identifies the problems facing the Christian Right movement in its attempt to devise political tactics in the mid-1990s. The author pays special attention to the question of the interaction between the Christian Right movement and the Republican Party.

Аннотация

Проанализированы факторы, способствовавшие усилению позиций движения «христианских правых» в США в 1990-е гг. Рассмотрены изменения в организации и идеологии движения, результаты его политической деятельности в этот период. Очерчены проблемы, с которыми оно столкнулось в связи с выработкой новой политической тактики в середине 1990-х гг. Особое внимание уделено вопросу о характере взаимодействия «христианских правых» и Республиканской партии.
