The technology of students’ knowledge correction on the basis of pedagogical diagnostics

Abstract

This article is devoted to the little studied problem of correction of university students’ knowledge. The author describes the essence and features of knowledge correction in the educational process at university, its structural and conceptual models. The technology of students’ knowledge correction developed on the basis of this model is intrinsic to the technology of module education with the test/rating system if knowledge control and assessment. The article describes the content, diagnostic, and procedural components of the technology. An important element of the diagnostic component is correcting diagnostics, which does not have a control function. It is shown that that the technology has the following new features: systemic nature, complexity, conceptuality, developing character, strucuredness, hierarchy, logicality, variability and flexibility, procedurality, manageability, instrumentality, diagnosability, predictability.

The qualimetrics methodology of academic staff certification

Abstract

This article presents a methodology of academic staff certification based on the qualimetrics approach to the assessment of objects and phenomena that are hardly subject to algorithmisation. This approach is used to identify the quality levels as individual components of the performance and overall ranking of the academic staff. The methodology was developed in the course of a study carried out by the authors at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in the framework of the project “The development of an independent qualimetrics system of assessing academic achievements of students and evaluating the academic staff” (the project team included V. V. Nordin, A. V. Yurov, N. V. Belkina, and K. L. Polupan).

The teacher’s interest as a phenomenon and concept

Abstract

This article stresses that the teacher’s interest as a phenomenon is a unity of both the objective, which - being the meaningful component – serves as the focus of attention, and the subjective, which reveals the teacher’s motives for ducation and training activities. As a concept, the teacher’s interest registers their attitude to the important as the objective; at the same time, attitude generates individual, selective, and conscious connections between the teacher and the objective and is generalized in their motives and aims.

Abstract

This article summarises the role of the Web 2.0 technology also known as social network services in the development of informal learning. This article offers a general description of non-formal and informal learning. Special attention is paid to blogging and the use of wki-resoruces as the most popular Internet tools. The author gives their general description and stresses their advantages and disadvantages in the educational context.

The regional aspect of developing educational and research culture

Abstract

This article considers the regional aspect of educational and research culture development and the possibility of its formation under certain pedagogical conditions. The development of educational and research culture is planned in view of certain features of the Kaliningrad region through introduction of research problems and development of students’ critical thinking. The authors used a number of pedagogical conditions for the development ofeducational and research culture for the successful application of the regional component.
