Region sotrudnichestva (The region of cooperation)

This journal is published in the framework of the Interregional studies in social sciences project implemented in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of education, INOCENTRE (Information. Science. Education) and the Kennan Institute - Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars with the support of Carnegie Corporation of New York (USA), and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (USA).

The Region of cooperation series has been published since 2004 by the Baltic interregional institute of social sciences at Kaliningrad University in the framework of The Baltic Region as a Pole of Economic integration Between Russia's North-West and the EU project. Due to the need to provide Russian and international academic community with up-to-date information on new developments in the special region of Russia – the Kaliningrad region – forced the Baltic Centre for Advanced Studies and Education to adopt the practice of publishing research notes, which proved to be successful within The Region of cooperation series founded in 2001.

The Region of cooperation publishes articles on the problems of interaction between the Russian federation and European countries, first of all, those of the Baltic region. Special attention is paid to the role of the Kaliningrad region as a pilot region for cooperation. Alongside Kaliningrad scholars and specialists, the article preparation involves eminent Russian and international experts. Other Centres for Advanced Studies and Education, Moscow and Saint Petersburg resource centres are welcome to take part in the discussion on the problems of European cooperation.
