About university press

The Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University carries out research in 38 fields. Over the last five years, the university's scholars have published 141 monographs, more than 280 training aids, and more than 4700 research articles. The university publishes the IKBFU's Vestnik, Kantovsky Sbornik, the Baltic region (journal is published in collaboration with Saint Petersburg State University in the Russian and English languages), Baltic Philological Messenger and Solovo.ru: The baltic accent . IKBFU is home to nationally and internationally renowned schools of thoughts in Kant studies, Russian philosophy, language modality, integrated study of the Baltic region, spatial and landscape planning, World Ocean research, quadruple and nuclear magnetic resonance, ionosphere physics, geomagentic process and radio wave propagation, differential figure manifold geometry and others.

Fundamental and applied research is conducted at 62 departments and 40 research centres and laboratories. The Baltic Centre for Advanced Studies and Education (Baltic CASE) – a part of the national CASE network – has been operating at the university since 2001. Its major line of research is Russia – Europe: past, present and future. Kant Institute was opened in 2009, the Social Sciences and Humanities Park including 4 research and education centres – Socioinstrumentarium, Russian Baltic, Region, and Baltic Region Institute – was established in 2010. 460 PhD students work in 36 areas. The university offers postdoctoral studies in 5 fields. Ten doctoral and postdoctoral thesis panels in 17 fields function successfully at the university.
